Fit Brit Collective bootcamps (run by Wimbledon based PT Brit Williams)
shook up the Southwest London fitness scene when they arrived at the Wimbledon
Windmill this summer. Attracting everyone from the exercise beginner to the
everyday athlete, Brit’s partner and circuit based sessions combine HIIT drills
and conditioning combos to increase every aspect of fitness, with an emphasis on
excellent form and smart exercise sequencing to get the best benefit of every
movement. And after a successful bootcamp and yoga collaboration in September
this year, Brit is once again teaming up with Fulham-based yoga instructor Sophie Dear
for a special Christmas edition of their Bootcamp & Bend fusion fitness events.
When and where?
You can join Brit & Sophie from 2-4pm on Saturday 10
December at the Wimbledon Village Club.
What to expect?
You’ll kickstart your afternoon with Brit’s 45min bodyweight bootcamp,
combining plyometric drills (low-impact options available if you’re
training with injuries), full body functional exercises and core isolation for
a holistic and invigorating workout.
Sophie will then take you through a 45min candlelit yoga flow, stretching
what you’ve strengthened and grounding the non-stop festive season in a
calming, nurturing practice.
Post-workout refreshments will be provided by Ugly Drinks, and healthy
seasonal canapés will be served by Lu-Ma Café to ensure you get the fuel
you need after working up a healthy sweat.
As well as luxury goodie bags, you’ll have the opportunity to win various
wellness-focused raffle prizes by taking part in optional festive fitness
challenges.
More about Brit
Brit’s passion for fitness evolved as she grew up in the Canadian countryside,
spending her childhood jumping between various sports and enjoying the
outdoor adventures on her doorstep in the Rocky Mountains. Her career in
fitness journalism was a natural outlet for her passion, but the long hours at a
desk left something to be desired.
Today Brit is lucky enough to divide her time between writing for the country’s
leading lifestyle titles – including Women’s Health and Elle magazines – and
training her personal clients across Southwest London. She is a Level 3 Personal
Trainer, with additional qualifications in Ante and Post Natal Exercise, Indoor
Cycling and TRX. After training, Brit’s favourite way to refuel is with homemade
energy balls – dates, almonds, nut butter, coconut oil, cacao, hemp protein and
maca powder all blended in a food processor and smushed into little balls of
heaven!
More about Sophie
Sophie discovered her passion for yoga when she decided to give up her job just
over a year ago. She was working all hours as an Assistant Director on shows
such as Spooks and Mr Selfridge, and after eight years her body and mind were
completely exhausted. Yoga gave Sophie a much-needed sense of balance in life
and helped her feel fit and healthy again. It not only made her feel incredible in
terms of strength, flexibility and balance, it also gave her space to quiet her mind.
Having left the TV world behind, Sophie is a yoga teacher, food and fitness
blogger and health and happiness warrior.
Sophie teaches dynamic vinyasa flow
at studios in Southwest London as well as for private clients.
Her favourite yoga pose is crow pose, because it was once her greatest weakness and now serves as
a reminder of how far she has come and what you can achieve with practice and
determination. Of course, those yoga poses are tough work, so to refuel she’ll
tuck happily into banana and almond butter – something she admits to be a bit of
an addiction!
Bootcamp & Bend earlybird tickets are available for £20 until Friday 25
November. Tickets will then be available for £25.
